Making the most of a good thing
The polarity of a Levamelt®-based adhesive formulation and its compatibility with a large number of surfaces can be adjusted over a wide range using the raw materials of the Levamelt® modular system.
Unlike with many other adhesive raw materials, this is possible not just by selecting the relevant grades, e.g. Levamelt® 700 with a VA content of 70 %, but also by blending different Levamelt® grades directly in the extruder. For example, mixing Levamelt® 500 and Levamelt® 700 results in an ideal combination of adhesiveness and strength.
If required, polyolefins and other additives can be added at any time to the free-flowing Levamelt® granules whose compatibility with polyolefins are very good as a result of the saturated molecular structure of Levamelt®. Thus providing not only greater flexibility for film manufacturers, but also enables adhesive producers to better respond to the needs of their customers.
